rissy + mike | married!

i met rissy + mike for the first time a little over a year ago...if i remember correctly, i was ever so slightly hungover from my bachelorette party and molly (rissy’s cousin + my bff) introduced us over apple cider. we spent the overcast afternoon in rissy + mike’s living room, listening to old records...i remember thinking how sweet rissy + mike were together. they didn’t know it yet, but rissy was pregnant with their now 4-month-old son, casey jones!

when rissy asked us to document their wedding in september, jon and i were psyched! we knew this wouldn’t be your average wedding because rissy and mike aren’t your average couple. rissy went barefoot and wore a gorgeous knee length dress from anthropologie. the ceremony was beautiful and simple -- on a private beach overlooking the chesapeake bay. their reception was catered by old smokey -- a huge grill in the shape of a train -- and an all-vinyl dj spun the likes of jimi, janis, and the dead while we ate. this wedding had rissy + mike written all over it and it was such a joy just being there...let alone documenting the whole thing! and now, without further ado, here's their sneak peek.
