baker + carter | sneak peek

i first met baker a year ago...carter was just an idea in her moma's belly and baker loved his fire trucks more than anything. one year later, he's just a bit taller, his hair is just a bit longer, and his love affair with fire trucks seems to have translated into a serious love for raisons. he still loves to run (usually in the opposite direction of my camera) so jon + i got a ton of exercise during this shoot. check out their sneak peek below...those blue eyes are ridic.

when casey wrote to us about doing a vintage family shoot reminiscent of bree + andy’s engagement shoot i did a happy dance. adults in vintage getups are adorable, but vintage baby attire? omg. well, casey certainly lived up to the hype. dad wore an awesome shirt from the 40’s with a matching newsboy cap, casey donned a gorgeous yellow dress from anthropologie with ruby red sandals, and baby emmitt wore the cutest little sailor outfit that was dad’s back in the day. we shot around the amazingness that is lucketts store and emmitt was a peach -- smiling and giggling with the occasional attempt to eat pebbles. check out their sneak peek below -- i dare you not to smile.

logan and step-mom-to-be, margot, met jon and i at the amazing dairy godmother in del ray. after a root beer float (with custard! mmm) we headed to the “castle playground” (as logan calls it) where we played on the swings and ingested even more sugar. logan is adorable -- very contemplative and sensitive (as you can see in these photos) but also hilarious. she had us all (herself included) cracking up throughout the shoot. i almost forgot how funny fart-humor can be (that’s a lie.) and this isn’t the last you’ll see of these adorable faces -- margot and logan’s pops are getting hitched in july! woohooo!

bree + andy | engaged!

bree + andy’s engagement shoot was one of this year’s best birthday presents! (minus my surprise party -- thanks jon! and my record player -- thanks mom!) we headed down to lucketts store in leesburg, va late saturday afternoon armed with about thirty pounds of water, new mix tapes, and our hyundai’s a/c on full blast. lucketts has an awesome assortment of vintage finds from record players and furniture to an antique, life-sized iron horse statue standing on the front lawn. just in case you’re in the market for one.

bree + andy -- you guys are awesome! i can't think of anyone else i'd rather spend 5+ hours with in ridiculous heat, playing with old things, and taking pictures.
