diy xmas tree stand.
a
for those of you with fake christmas trees, FEAR NOT. you can still have a little bit of the forest in your living room. enter: the tree stump. isn't she beautiful? you can thank the obscenely creative stephen and shauna over at something's hiding in here for this xmas inspiration.
for those of you with fake christmas trees, FEAR NOT. you can still have a little bit of the forest in your living room. enter: the tree stump. isn't she beautiful? you can thank the obscenely creative stephen and shauna over at something's hiding in here for this xmas inspiration.
what you'll need:
fake christmas tree, drill, paddle bit and scrap paper.
next, find an old stump (your local tree service should have some.)
then drill a hole with a 1" paddle bit.
insert the faux tree into the stump...and voila!
it's magical.

diy alter + aisle decor.
a
jon + i tied the knot at a little b+b in the middle of nowhere and although it was gorgeous, the owner had her own ideas when it came to decorations. enter: the bison head. fortunately, we were able to negotiate and she eventually took it down. in it's place? we decided on a simple vase of autumn-themed flowers. with the fireplace's stone backdrop, it was perfect (you can see a bit of the arrangement here...photo by the lovely procopio photography!)
![]() so here it is: beautiful, diy decorations for the alter + aisle...wherever, whenever you're getting married. click on the photos for a walk-through from martha stewart, herself. |

diy milkglass centerpieces.
a
for starters -- happy FRIDAY, friends!
i'm all for inexpensive centerpieces. but a DIY, VINTAGE centerpiece?
i am SO in love with the faux milkglasses i found on ruffled. their simple, delicate look would mesh with anything and everything.

what to do:
un: use rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball or paper towel to remove sticky residue from the vases. then wash vases with soap and dry completely.
deux: lay down paper on your spraying surface in a well-ventilated area. shake spray paint for 1-2 minutes before spraying. shake between sprays as well. wearing gloves, work from side to side spraying vases with spray paint. don’t get too close to the vase to avoid drips/runs. (no need to spray paint the inside of the vases, just do the tops; spraying the inside then using them for flowers with water will cause the inside paint to flake off).
trois: rotate vase until covered, let dry a few minutes before adding a second coat. let dry completely.
a
VOILA!
