that's diesel. he likes to smell books. he's just generally awesome. but the real reason for this picture is the book under his feet. yup -- that's my photo on the cover of ifaw's new tails for whales publication! danielle wright + the folks at ifaw launched this global campaign to show governments worldwide the overwhelming support for the protection of our whale friends. slowly, but surely, we're bringing whale rights to the forefront...and the future is looking brighter.

i met up with a few members of ifaw yesterday to shoot the cover of their upcoming, much anticipated publication: a compilation of photos featuring people from all over flashing the whale tail. how does one do the whale tail, you ask? it’s easy! i’ll show you:

arla albers, the artist formerly known as go-go the clown, painted the hands of four ifaw folks -- the end result was gorgeous. armed with four authentic-looking whale tails, we headed into dupont circle.
