recycling your xmas tree.

i always feel really bad throwing out my xmas tree, so i LOVE fabien cappello for coming up with the rad idea of turning this sad sight:

into this sexy beast!

only problem is this guy's in london. so i either need to move to london (umm ok!) or we need someone to do this in the states. any whittlers out there?

the streets of london.

london is hands down one of my favorite places in the world.

not surprisingly, we spent a while at the duck pond.

just call him bird man.

for someone terrified of beaks -- yes, beaks (as if they're a separate entity) -- jon did pretty well feeding the ducks.

i see london, i see france.

those of you who know me well, know i cannot live without animals, music, photography, and my morning tea. oh, and my husband. and my friends. and my mom. ok, well the point is - i LOVE tea. so, while traveling, it was crucial i learn to order 'hot tea' in italian. thankfully, jon downloaded an english-italian translation app on his iphone before the trip. when asked what i would like at breakfast our first morning in florence, i proudly requested my hot tea - after which the server simply stared at me. i figured he was impressed, so i smiled and nodded. during this exchange, i noticed jon plugging my phrase into the translator; apparently, i had asked for their wealthiest cheese.

the only trick-or-treater we saw on halloween.

firenze.

a few more pics from london and italy:

that's his happy face. he lived on one of the vineyards we found while wandering around tuscany (not a bad place to be lost.)

at the roman baths.

a sweet kitty living in an outdoor sanctuary of florence. they have mini-houses, tons of food and water, and play all day. i still wanted to take him home. jon dissented.

i loved these alleys.

the husband. pretty much my view throughout the entire honeymoon. apparently my ADD wanderings slowed him down.

this both amazed and disturbed me.
